Fenton community mourns death of Ted Goupil
The Fenton community is mourning the death of Ted Goupil, 87, of Fenton Township. He died Tuesday, Feb. 22. Goupil retired in 1989 after 10 years as principal at West Shore Elementary School in Lake Fenton Community Schools. Prior to that, he spent 17 years as a teacher/administrator in the Flint school system. He served on the Fenton Township Board of Trustees for 20 years, 10 of them as clerk. Having to live until you are 87 is a great blessing. While this is a big loss for the family of Ted Goupil, his accomplishments and contribution to the community will never be forgotten. What is more important right now is that he has lived a long fruitful and productive life. I think he is still lucky to have reached this age. An average American man will only live until 76 years old. I’m sure most of his contemporaries have gone ahead of him. On his part, I’d like to think that he has enjoyed his life with his friends and family. The entire Fenton community mourns his passing but surely, his legacy will live on.
Seven Lakes State Park in Fenton, MI
Seven Lakes State Park is a popular landmark in Michigan. The place is called as seven lakes because this one large lake came from seven small lakes. The state operates the park and opened in 1977. This is a public recreation venue offering fishing activities, camping, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and hunting. There are also areas dedicated for picnics and sightseeing.
